I meant to write about this last week when we went to see it. Hopefully, you have all seen it by now, we were a bit late as Alan has been so busy recently. In fact we saw one of the last performances before it left our local cinema. That aside, we both really enjoyed this film. It is a very deep and thoughtful film. Not fast paced, but then you wouldn't want it to be given the story. The effects work very well to the point when you don't notice them. This is what VFX people always strive for, but film companies often seem to have other ideas. I think they want people to know where the money has been spent! Any way, for a really thoughtful first contact movie I don't think you can beat this one. If, by some chance, you haven't seen it yet, then I would recommend it. I think I am right in saying that Mark Kermode liked it so much he saw it twice, a good recommendation if ever there was one.
