Clue 1 see above - the previous answer was memoirs
Clue 2 Starts in 1950 - the year he joined the BBC. Incidentally a note was placed in his personnel file after his first appearance on TV that said he will make a fine producer but should not be used in front of camera as his teeth where too big.

This is probably the best autobiography I have listened to the audio version is read by the author and he sounds so happy remembering the events.

While it wouldn't have actually worked, choosing Florida as the site for the great gun, was actually a very smart move on the part of Jules Verne in his seminal science fiction novel, From the Earth to the Moon.
