So thinking that the second word might be a synonym for heroes I opened up Thesaurus.com and found myself presented with a list of filled bread products. That'll teach me to surf when I'm hungry...

Yes, David, they are the tidy minded heroes of Elisabeth Beresford's children's novels: The Wombles of Wimbledon.

And of course a BBC stop-motion adaptation, before they went on to become legendary Rock n' Rollers . . .
