Sadly, it is Jasper. It is the Amicus (The opposition for Hammer) produced, 1967 flick The Terrornauts. I watched this one last weekend. It came across as Doctor Who with no Doctor in it. Hey ho.

Thank you Barry. I have seen it and while proof positive that us Brits can do naff B-movie SF with the best of them, it was nice to see Charles Hawtrey is a rare dramatic role . . .

This sounds like a record. Pity it's only two numbers. If it was four, I would've for In the Year 2525 by Zager & Evans.

It was a B-side, but if it had got to No.1 it would have taken a long time getting there.
